Canary Run
Created in Unity, I followed an amazing tutorial on YouTube which allowed me to pick up the basics of making games in Unity much easier to understand.
I was surprised how fast I was able to get up and running with scripting and creating assets to put into the game
The bird doesn't actually move in the game, the bird only moves up and down. Gravity takes care of the downward movement, meanwhile jumping uses velocity to move the bird up. Seeing this blew my mind, I always thought that the bird was moving but the pipes are moving closer to you.
I am now thinking of other games I could make, and what I could do to build up this game over time. Making games feels really fun to me and I hope I can get better at this over time.
